U.S. Mint To Release Uncirculated Set With Last Of the Special 2019 W Pennies

Tomorrow marks the official release of the 2019 Uncirculated (Mint) Set in Original Government Packaging by the United States Mint. As stressed before, this normally is not what is considered to be a “major” release by the Mint due to its annual nature. But unlike previous years and much like the last two annual sets that include both the 2019 Clad Proof Set and 2019 Silver Proof Set, this year’s set will include the last of the three special edition Lincoln cents the US Mint released to thank their loyal customers.

The first premium penny released had a proof finish while the second was struck in reverse proof, both minted with a ‘W’ mintmark on the obverse representing the West Point Mint.

The 2019 Uncirculated Set will contain its normal 20 coins that are made up of a 10-coin folder each from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. Each folder includes your Native American $1 coin, Kennedy Half dollar, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel, and Lincoln Cent in addition to the five America The Beautiful quarters. To make it 21 coins in this year’s release, the Mint will include an additional premium penny.

The last 2019 W special edition penny will have an uncirculated finish and will be packaged separately in a clear United States Mint plastic wrap.

Stay tuned for more information regarding these sets as well as possible certified options to follow much like the previous special edition pennies offered on the show.
