US Mint To Release Last Of Engraved Prints Ahead Of Moon Landing Anniversary

July 20th, 2019, marks the official 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing and the United States Mint has done its fair share of commemorating that historic Apollo 11 mission. Leading up to that date, it will continue its efforts, in conjunction with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, in recognizing the event by releasing its third and final Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 2019 Engraved Print on July 19th.

The first print titled “Mission” featured President John F. Kennedy while the second print titled “The Eagle Has Landed” featured President Richard Nixon. The last printed will be titled “Giant Leap” and feature astronaut and first ever man on the moon, Neil Armstrong.

The print itself will capture the historic moment when Neil Armstrong saluted the United States flag atop the moon’s surface while declaring the famous line, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The entire series is a commemoration of the United States space program and its efforts in the space race to be the first to put a man on the moon on July 20, 1969.
