Coming Up On the 2020 United States Mint Production Schedule

We are halfway through January and our shipping and fulfillment department have been busy nonstop after the presale of both the 2020 Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof American Silver Eagles. Not to mention the 2020-W Congratulations Set Proof American Silver Eagle. Big releases indeed from the United States Mint. However, they still have a plethora of product releases for the new year to come and we have not even scratched the surface of it.

At the end of January, the last of the three-coin 2018-2020 Preamble to the Declaration of Independence Platinum Proof Coin series. This year’s them is the Pursuit of Happiness and features Lady Liberty harvesting the fruit with a young girl by her side. The design depicted is meant to symbolize “the good things that nourish the body, enliven the mind, and satisfy the soul.” According to the Mint, 2018’s “Life” and 2019’s “Liberty” coins are still available on their website.

A few days before Valentine’s Day, February 12th, the design for the 2020 Native American $1 Coin will be released in rolls, bags, and boxes with a circulating finish although never being placed into circulation. In its 20th year of production, the design will highlight the advocacy contributions made by Elizabeth Peratrovich. Her determination during the passing of the 1945 Anti-Discrimination Law by the Alaskan territorial government is said to have been the reason and final factor for the passage of the law. She was also a member of the Tlingit Raven moiety which is also depicted on the reverse of the design.

Available for purchase on February 24th, President Andrew Jackson will be depicted in .999 fine silver in continuation of the Presidential Medal Series. As the 7th President, Jackson served as from 1829-1837 and was instrumental in defeating the British in New Orleans. With a matte finish, the medal will have the same “PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP” design on the reverse with the two hands coming together representing goodwill.

The end of February will see the release of the 2020 Proof Set minted in San Francisco. No details have been disclosed by the Mint, but they have increased their price slightly as they have done on other products already released earlier this year.

In Mid-March, the Mint will release the American Eagle 2020 Gold Proof Four-Coin Set. Minted at West Point, these coins have the potential to be the last ones with the design that has been seen since its inception in 1986. The Mint, while still unsure and unclear as to what their plans are, will possibly see a design change for both the Gold and Silver American Eagle programs in 2021. Again, most are unclear of what they will decide to do but the very thought is intriguing. These Proof coins will be released as a four-coin set in addition to being released separately for purchase.

Stay tuned for another breakdown as dates and product details for the Spring have yet to be released on their production schedule.
