San Francisco Proof Silver Eagle Slated For Mid-October Release

In its third year of release in addition to the regularly minted Proof American Silver Eagle from the West Point Mint, the United States Mint has finally announced its plans to release the 2020 San Francisco minted Proof Silver Eagle in October. This will be the third release overall of the American Silver Eagle program for 2020.

Slated for the 13th day in October, the coin will bear the ‘S’ mintmark representing the San Francisco Mint from which it was produced and struck at. The obverse will feature the classic Adolph A. Weinman design featuring Lady Liberty in full stride. She remains enveloped in the American flag while her right hand extends out and branches of laurel and oak are to her left. The reverse of the coin will feature the heraldic eagle with a shield, olive branch in its right talon, and arrows to the left.

The one Troy ounce coin will be comprised of .999 fine silver and come packaged in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity. The coin has no mintage or household limit and will retail at $64.50.
