2021 Morgan Silver Dollar Commemorative 'Privy Mark' Coins Set For Release Today

Today is finally the day! The first round of 2021 Morgan Silver Dollars will be available for sale from the United States Mint starting at 12pm EST. Here are some last minute details for those who may be interested in joining what will be a pretty large line not only on the Mint’s website, but probably anywhere dealers and retailers who get their hands on them will have.

Both available products will feature Privy Marks on the bottom reverse as a nod to those minting facilities no longer in production. With each version containing .0858 Troy Ounces of .999 fine silver, product limits will be capped at 175,000 with a household limit of just 10. Ordering will be available at noon EST and will close on June 7th at 3pm EST or until inventories are diminished. However, the actual coins will not be shipped out until October of this year.

The Morgan 2021 Silver Dollar with the ‘CC’ Privy Mark honors the Mint facility at Carson City in Nevada. Some of the most collectable and most wanted coins in the original Morgan Silver Dollar program come with the ‘CC’ mintmark.

The Morgan 2021 Silver Dollar with the ‘O’ Privy Mark will honor the Mint facility at New Orleans in Louisiana. Morgan Silver Dollars were produced from 1879 to 1904 with the ‘O’ mintmark with the exception of a few years in between.

Each coin will come packaged in a black box and be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. They were both struck at the Philadelphia Mint and will be available for $85 per coin.
