What's Ahead For the U.S. Mint Production Schedule

The United States Mint is gearing up for their second half of the 2023 production schedule. With several big releases behind us, we have even bigger and better releases ahead of us. Let us take a look at some of those upcoming products.

Ending the month of May will be the 2023-W Burnished American Silver Eagle in Original Government Packaging. Struck in .999 fine silver at the West Point Mint, the household limit is 10 and the retail $76.00. It features the same iconic and popular design on the obverse with the newly updated Eagle Landing design on the reverse.

Just a few days later on June 1st, the 2023-W Burnished American Gold Eagle will be released. Also featuring the ‘W’ for the West Point Mint, the household limit is set at three with the mintage and product limit set at 10,000. Current retail is “TBD.”

Continuing on in June, the third release of the 2023 American Women Quarters will be available in rolls and bags from Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco (3-roll set only). Eleanor Roosevelt will be featured on the reverse as she was an author, reformer, civil liberties advocate, first lady, and human rights activist.

Struck at San Francisco and available on June 20th, the 2023 Proof Set will be released and will retail at $35.00. The coins will come encapsulated in the protective lens and include the five American Women quarters, the Kennedy half dollar, Native American dollar, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel, and Lincoln cent. All will be in a Proof finish and come accompanied by a Certificate Authenticity.

The third coin in the 2023 American Innovation Dollar releases will be available in rolls and bags from Denver and Philadelphia on June 26th. Honoring the state of Indiana, the reverse design will feature three different versions of vehicles and the innovation that took place over the years. From the early style gas automobile to a recent and modern version of the Indy style race car, the design highlights the birthplace of the Racing Capital of the World.

The Uncirculated versions of the 2023 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars will be the first release of July. Struck at Philadelphia, the coins will be $76.00 and have a household limit of 25. No mintages have been released.

A few days later on the 17th of July, the Armed Forces One Ounce Silver Medal honoring the United States Navy will continue the medal program. Retailing at $75.00, the medal is stuck at Philadelphia. On August 8th, the Bronze Medal of the Navy design will be available for $20.00. It is the second release of the Bronze Armed Forces Medal Program.

On August 9th, the biggest releases and perhaps the most highly anticipated will be available. Continuing the Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar Program will be the FIRST Proof coins! A 2023 Proof Morgan Silver Dollar and 2023 Proof Peace Dollar from San Francisco will be released, each for $80.00. Household limits are 25 with no mintage limit revealed yet.

The following day, the next in the American Liberty program will make available the Gold Proof Coin and the Silver Proof Medal. Depicting a modern portrayal of the idea of liberty, the obverse of both the silver medal and gold American Liberty coin feature a bristlecone pine, which is a tree species native to California, Nevada, and Utah. Thought to be one of the oldest living organisms on Earth, the bristlecone pines grow where other plants cannot and are often the first to repopulate after destructive and calamitous changes occur like lava run or glacial runoff. The Gold Proof coin will feature the ‘W’ mintmark representing the West Point Mint and the Silver Proof Medal will depict the ‘P’ mintmark representing the Philadelphia Mint. The Gold Proof coin does not have a retail price yet, but the Silver Proof Medal is currently set at $82.00.

The rest of August will see the releases of the Andrew Johnson Presidential Silver Medal, the fourth release of the 2023 American Women Quarters featuring Jovita Idar, the 2023 Silver Proof Set, and the fourth release of the 2023 American Innovation dollars honoring Mississippi.

Get ready; the summer looks like it’s going to be a HOT one with all these new, incredible products! As always, dates and prices are not set in stone. More updates and information will come!
