This special edition collector-grade Matte finish coin features an "80" Privy Mark on the reverse. A part of a mintage of just 1,944, which commemorates the year of the battle, this coin was struck on the exact day of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day: June 6, 2024.

REVERSE: Designed by Royal Mint artist Daniel Thorne, an inscription that reads "D-DAY 6 JUNE 1944 UTAH OMAHA GOLD JUNO SWORD" is featured along the top arc. Those names were used to describe the five assault beaches at Normandy. Allied forces are seen arriving to the beach alongside their watercraft.

OBVERSE: His Majesty King Charles III is depicted on the obverse of the commemorative coin alongside the date of 2024, 2 POUNDS, and CHARLES III D G REX F D, which in Latin means Dei Gratia Rex and translates to 'Charles III, by the grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith.'
