REVERSE: The reverse design showcases an American Buffalo which was modified from the original reverse done on the Buffalo nickel. The buffalo in this case is said to be modeled after Black Diamond who was residing at the Central Park Zoo during its creation. Inscriptions included in the design read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD, and $50 for the denomination.

OBVERSE: The classic and well known portrait of a Native American in profile is featured on the obverse. This was first seen on the 1913 Buffalo nickel. LIBERTY, 2013, and the 'W' mint mark representing its issuing facility, West Point, is inscribed as well.
