Struck in 90% silver/10% copper, this commemorative dollar from Denver is certified by PCGS in a MS69 condition.
REVERSE: Designed by Thomas D. Rogers, the reverse embodies the spirit of exploration as it displays the Santa Maria and the U.S. Space Shuttle Discovery. The Earth and a star are featured in the upper right of the shuttle. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1492-1992 are inscribed.
OBVERSE: Crafted by John Mercanti, the obverse showcases Christopher Columbus holding a banner in his right hand and a scroll in his left. He is standing next to a globe sitting atop a pedestal on his left. In the background there are three sailing ships. COLUMBUS QUINCENTENARY, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1992, and D are inscribed throughout the design.
