The United States Mint is preparing for their next product release today with the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Silver Medal. Beginning at 12pm EST, you can add this medal to your collection for $90.00.
As the 26th release in the series, the number coincides with the order of the presidency. President Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, is honored on the .999 fine silver 1oz medal. His tenure began on September 14, 1901, after the assassination of President William McKinley. Serving under him as Vice President, Roosevelt took office following the tragedy. He would eventually get reelected for a second term in the 1904 election and serve as president until March 4, 1909.
The obverse (designed by C.E. Barber) of the silver medal depicts the bust of Roosevelt with the inscription THEODORE ROOSEVELT. The reverse (designed by George T. Morgan) shows the inscriptions INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SEP. 14, 1901, and SECOND TERM MARCH 4, 1905. Columbia stands to the left of the inscriptions with her right hand resting on a column with a cinerary urn atop it. Other features, including a scroll in her left hand pointing outward, symbolize the authority of the United States. The United States Capitol can be seen in the background.
The 1oz matte finish silver medal will come in a cap and Original Government packaging accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
