U.S. Marine Corps Silver Dollar
Established on November 10, 1775, the United States Marine Corps has been integral to American military history—from early naval engagements to pivotal operations around the world. This commemorative issue recognizes that legacy of readiness, resilience, and valor.
Authorized by Congress, the 2005 program marked the Corps’ 230th anniversary and directed surcharge proceeds to Marine-related foundations. The goal was to honor Marines past and present while offering collectors a meaningful connection to a major historic milestone. As part of the series, the Marine Corps 230th Anniversary Silver Dollar was issued with Proof and Uncirculated options.
