Issued as part of a national program supporting the Statue of Liberty’s restoration for its 100th anniversary, the 1986 S Proof Dollar is a cornerstone of modern U.S. commemoratives. It will come in an acrylic case.

REVERSE: Depicts Liberty’s torch framed by rays of light. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR are inscribed. Also inscribed in the middle is the following: GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR, YOUR MUDDLED MASSES YEARNING TO BREATHE FREE.

OBVERSE: Features the Statue of Liberty with the Ellis Island Immigration Center in the background. The inscriptions read LIBERTY, ELLIS ISLAND, GATEWAY TO AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, S, and 1986.
