Flying Eagle Cents
The Flying Eagle cent is a short-lived yet iconic United States small cent struck for circulation in 1857 and 1858, with a famous 1856 pattern that remains one of the most coveted pieces in American numismatics. Introduced as the nation transitioned from large copper cents to a smaller copper-nickel coin, the Flying Eagle design marked a turning point in U.S. coinage.
