Overall, the 1970 Proof Set has a mintage of 2,632,810. The entire mintage refers to the sets including the Large Date Lincoln Cent. It is unknown how many Small Date Lincoln Cent sets were struck. **Side note: 2,200 sets of the estimated mintage also include the Roosevelt Dime, No S variety. The San Francisco Mint mistakenly processed an obverse die without the 'S' mint mark. They were later mixed into the regular Proofs. **

Lincoln Cent Indentifier: What To Look For

With Small Date Proofs, the '7' sits higher and lines up closely with the tops of the 1, 9, and 0. The '0' appears round and even. With the Large Date Proofs, the '7' sits lower and the '0' looks taller and more oval.
