SOL Commemorative BU Dollar

The 1986 Statue of Liberty Commemorative Silver Dollar celebrates the 100th anniversary of this iconic monument. It is struck in 90% silver with a Brilliant Uncirculated from the Philadelphia Mint! It will come with a Certificate of Authenticity and be housed in a protective plastic capsule inside Blue Original Government Packaging!

REVERSE: An evocative depiction of the statue’s torch is showcased on the reverse with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR. Also inscribed is a quote from American poet Emma Lazarus' sonnet, "The New Colossus," which she wrote to help raise money for the construction of a pedestal for the Statue of liberty. The coin reads "GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR, YOUR HUDDLED MASSES YEARNING TO BREATHE FREE."

OBVERSE: A strong depiction of the Statue of Liberty is featured on the obverse with and image of Ellis Island in the background. LIBERTY, ELLIS ISLAND, GATEWAY TO AMERICAN, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1986, and the 'P' mint mark is also seen.
