The United States Mint is going all out for the semiquincentennial of our nation’s founding in 2026. Perhaps one of the most anticipated coins to come this year will be released tomorrow beginning at 12pm EST. Moved once already due to the volatility of the precious metals market, we will finally have the opportunity to get our hands on the 2026 Proof Silver Eagle from West Point!
Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the birth of America, the 2026 W Proof American Silver Eagle will have a special issue bearing the dual date of 1776 ~ 2026. In addition, the coin will feature a Liberty Bell Privy mark on the obverse above the inscription IN GOD WE TRUST. The number 250 will also appear in the bell.
Struck in 1oz of .999 fine silver, the West Point minted coin will be limited 500,000 in mintage with no current product or household limit. Arriving in a black velvet, satin-lined presentation case, the stunning Proof issue will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and retail for $173.00.
In addition to the standard Proof issue from West Point, the Mint will also release the 2026 Congratulations Set. For the first time, the Proof Silver Eagle from the set will be struck at Philadelphia and bear the ‘P’ mint mark on the reverse. The coin is limited to just 60,000 and retails at $175.00. The household limit is set at one.
