The United States Mint is slated to finally release the 2025 DC Comic Art Superheroes 3pc Medal Set today beginning at 12pm EST. Originally slated for 2025, the set will retail for $130.00.
Struck at the Denver Mint in .999 fine silver, all three silver medals will weigh just under a 1/2oz (11.340g) and appear in a Matte finish. The set will bring together the first three superheroes in the series, who also happen to be the founding members of the Justice League: Superman™, Batman™, and Wonder Woman™.
Superman™ is depicted flying over his family farm on the obverse with the sun in the background symbolizing not just what nurtures the farm where a young Clark Kent grew up with his adoptive parents, but also the primary source that allows him to have his tremendous powers. The reverse captures the duality of the man we know and love. He is shown as a young man watching a plane fly overhead. His father, Pa Kent, looks on in the design knowing he will only have his son for a short time before he leaves to fulfill his destiny.
Batman™ is leaping into action to protect the people of his city on the obverse. A decorative eagle is carved in stone next to him overlooking Gotham. The reverse features the famous Bat-Signal shining brightly in the sky as Batman looks ready to step into action.
Wonder Woman™ is leaping into action with her shield and lasso of truth on the obverse. The stripes of the American flag are showcased in the background, which represent her costume that was designed during the Second World War. The reverse of the medal also features Wonder Woman™ soaring high above planet Earth with three doves. The design is said to symbolize and recognize her “role as a global ambassador in pursuit of peace and her steadfast commitment to justice, peace, and equality.”
All three silver medals will be featured in a card accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity on the back. While there is no mintage or product limit, there is currently a household order limit of one.
