The second to last Semiquincentennial quarter for the 2026 series will be available today from the United States Mint beginning at 12pm EST. Releasing in rolls and bags from Philadelphia and Denver, the quarter dollar will honor the U.S. Constitution.
Aiming to commemorate American Liberty by reflecting on our nation’s history and its foundational principles, the 2026 quarters will be a one year only issue and are just a few of the many coins and medals from the Mint recognizing the 250th anniversary of the birth of the nation.
We have already seen three releases in the series so far honoring the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, and the Declaration of Independence. Next up: the U.S. Constitution. The obverse depicts the fourth President of the United States, James Madison. He is known as the "Father of the Constitution" as he took on a major role in writing and promoting the document that we all know today. Surrounding him on the obverse are the inscriptions E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, the mint mark, and 1776~2026.
The reverse features Independence Hall in Philadelphia where the Liberty Bell was housed and where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were drafted and signed. Inscriptions include LIBERTY • UNITED STATES OF AMERICA • U.S. CONSTITUTION, WE THE PEOPLE, and QUARTER DOLLAR.
The 2-roll (P & D) set will retail at $56.00 while the 100-coin bags will retail at $63.
The fifth and final design for the one-year only quarter program will reflect the Gettysburg Address.
